TRADUCCIÓN.—Vivía en aquella aldeina un cura que era al parecer un santín del cielo, aunque más tarde se descubrió que nada más que era el mismo demonio, que con su inteligencia les ordeñaba a las gentes de aquella encantadora aldea, todos cuantos dineros agenciaran, entre todos los vecinos entre el dinero que le deban por las misas y las generosas limosnas que los ofrecían a los santos y santina del lugar, proporcionaban al cura todo cuanto el condenado necesitaba para vivir lo mismo que un príncipe, que con su inteligencia había logrado el practicar su vicio de borrachín y disfrutar placenterosamente del amor, con su joven y hermosa ama, que todos los vecinos consideraban como su hermana, por lo que había dicho el cura cuando la trajo a la aldea. Pero fue precisamente el ama cuando el cura se murió la que descubrió lo que cada día amanecido el cura hacía, que no era otra cosa, que el embrujarlos a todos lo mismo que ella embrujada estaba, haciéndoles creer que todas aquellas formas y maneras que él tenía cuando les predicaba, dentro de sus sulfurantes y alucinantes misterios, eran el fruto de la divina gracia que le daban los santos, las güestias y apagüestias, y todo el sinfín de divinidades que poblaban los santos lugares donde se asienta el Reino del Hacedor. —Por aquellos tiempos llega la aldea un indiano hijo de ella, que después de vivir muchos años en las américas, regresaba con su cartera llena de dineros, que lo hicieron al cura con grande prisa buscar la forma de esquilarle parte de ellos. Así fue que comenzó sermoneándole, hablándole de las cosas y misterios divinos, por las que sus fenecidos padres con él se ponían en contacto, no dejaran de sufriendo hacer tales cosas, mientras que alguien no les ofreciera montones de misas y cantidades de limosnas a la santa y santinos de la aldea. Pero el indiano que según parecía le tenía mucho más apego a sus dineros que a todas las divinidades que hablaba por cura, no estaba predispuesto a entregarle aquel ladronzuelo sus dineros, por esto tomó por cuento todo cuanto decía el cura, y hasta se reía por lo bajo de sus vecinos y tontas creencias, lo mismo que de aquel cura predicador, que según su parecer era mucho más listo e inteligente de todos cuantos él había escuchado y visto en las américas, que también tenían la costumbre siempre atemorizando a las gentes con cosas divinas, de robarles el dinero lo mismo que el cura de su aldea pretendía. —Así estaban las cosas cuando el cura comenzó a rondar todas las noches la casa del indiano, vestido como los fantasmas, en el parejo que hacía sonar cadenas y cencerros, y de vez en cuando decía con voz de ultratumba cosas que el indiano tenía que hacer, sino quería que al diablo y las güestias de sus padres que pidiéndole estaban, le enloqueciesen de miedo por no creer en las cosas santas y sagradas del Hacedor. —El indiano que aunque se hacía el listo, en su pensamiento las fuerzas y creencias de su ancestro lo dominaban, y aconsejado por sus vecinos que de continuo le hablaban, que las ánimas que rondaban su casa no eran otras que las de sus padres y por otro lado también le decían, que para que quería su riqueza sino podía gozarlas con felicidad y sosiego, así pues, todos le suplicaban que hiciera lo que la apagüestia le ordenaba. —Creyendo o no creyendo el caso fue que el indiano comenzó a dar ricas limosnas a los santos y la santina de la aldea hasta que una noche sintieron a la güestia con grande sufrimiento quejarse, pronunciando unos alaridos tan llenos de dolor que todas las gentes de la embrujadora aldeina rezaban en el silencio atemorizante de sus casas, porque el santo del Hacedor remediara el grande sufrimiento de aquella alma en pena. —Cuando llegó el amanecer del día, los vecinos de la embrujadora aldeina, vieron que la güestia en la que ellos creían no era tal ánima, sino que era el propio cura vestido de fantasma, que se encontraba muerto, por la causa de que al saltar la cerca del huerto del indiano, se habla clavado una aguzante estaca en la barriga, que le hizo morir con las tripas en la mano, pidiendo acolmillado por el dolor la ayuda que nadie le dio, por mor de pensar todos que era la güestia quien se quejaba. —Desde aquél día ya jamás nadie creyó en la aldea ni en güestias ni en ánimas condenadas que no hacían otra cosa nada más, que atemorizarles con un temor divinizante para robarles sus menguados intereses, con los que se hartaban los curas y todo el rosario de gentes con sotana.Primer Diccionario Enciclopédicu de la Llingua Asturiana > güestia

6 Diloggún:
Cauris o Cyprea moneta. Se trata de unos caracoles de origen marino, los cuales se usan para piezas de un oráculo en la Regla de Ocha. Cada caracol se llama "aye" y el jüego de los dieciséis que se usan forman una mano de Obatalá y se llama entonces "Diloggún". A este oráculo se le agregan cuatro piezas que se llaman "ibo" o "ibbo", consistentes en dos caracoles mayores y distintos que los 16 anteriores, a los que nombran "edele" y, por eso dicen que son 18 caracoles o "ayes". Las otras piezas son un huesito y una semilla vegetal parecida al ojo de buey. El oráculo del Díloggún presenta una complejidad que nosotros no hemos podido penetrar. En primer término, son 16 piezas iguales de origen animal y marítimo, a las que llaman individualmente "aye". Esos caracoles forman "manos" de distinto número según sea el orísha a quien le pertenezcan. La mano de " ayes" de Elégguá tiene 2 [m2]cauris, pero si es del arará Echú Afrodi, tendrá 24. La mano de cauris que se usan para el oráculo del Diloggún es considerada algunas veces, como dos veces ocho, que hacen dieciséis, el mismo número de ventanas del castillo que Obatalá tiene en la loma con 365 puertas abiertas. Los dieciséis "ayes" o cauris están desfondados o rotos en el caparazón opuesto a su natural abertura. Ese arreglo es indispensable para que puedan caer y sostenerse boca arriba. Estos cauris, así como el obí kolá y muchos otros productos, son traídos de África, desde que a Cuba trajeron los primeros africanos. Los dos caracoles que sobran, los llamados "edele", se obtienen en Cuba y no se les rompe por parte alguna; se usan tal cual se obtienen de la playa. El tercer elemento es de naturaleza vegetal, se trata de una semilla. El cuarto, es de origen óseo humano; es una pequeña vértebra coxígea, obtenida en el trasiego de los restos óseos del ilé Yanzá. El manejo que un sacerdote de Ocha le da a la mano de dieciséis cauris y a las cuatro piezas del "ibbo", nos hacen presumir que el dicho "ibbo" constituyó en algún momento un oráculo independiente de los dieciséis "ayes" Los caracoles y el ibbo, es decir, las piezas del Diloggún están siempre en el igbudú y cuando llega un necesitado a quien hay que "registrar", consultar o verle sus problemas y cómo resolvérselos, se escribe el nombre de pila y sus apellidos en una hoja de papel y con lápiz, también se anota la edad, el día y mes en que nació. Acto seguido el babálócha o iyálócha tiene que moyubar, como en el coco, principiando por llamar a Olofi, Oloddumare y algunas veces a Oloruñ para pedirles la bendición e informarles que va a servir en bien a un "hijo". Continúa el rezo de moyubar, con todos los muertos o sea los Babá Eggún, según se puede ver en la fórmula que dice: Ibae baé, bayé tonú pato lo Babá Eggún, para todos los babáronú que laboran por mí, que están en el mundo de la verdad... Se puede seguir llamando o moyubando muertos que fueron los mayores en el santo del sacerdote, para que lo asistan con su experiencia e impida el entrometimiento de los espíritus perturbadores, pero no siempre es así, porque el santero teme la presencia de muchos muertos en las cosas del Santo. Continúa el sacerdote o sacerdotisa llamando oríshas, principiando por Echú y Elégguá. Siempre que llama, dice quien llama: Fulano de tal, hijo de tal santo, que lo llama para pedirle la bendición y para que Ud. sepa que va a hacer esto o lo otro y requiere que Ud. facilite su permiso. Esa labor de moyubar sigue así con cada orísha en un orden que ya aparece muy alterado en muchos usos criollos. Aquí exponemos el orden del rezo al Diloggún que sigue un babálócha de Guanabacoa, quien es según se dice "una autoridad en el Santo". Olofi, Orísha Oko, Olodumare, Inle, Babá Elégguá Osa Griñán, Oggún, Babalú Ayé, Osáin, Equn (Ofé Díloggún), Orúmbila, Leripín, Babá Obatalá, Changó, Yemayá, Obeye Loro, Olokún, Argayú, Yeyé Okari. Terminado el oru, que no siempre lo siguen los santeros nuevos y a veces le alteran el orden de los oríshas, se pasa a rogar el caracol. El sacerdote toma en sus dos manos el oráculo y lo bajea con su aliento para darle aché, luego fricciona las piezas y las moyuba; se las presenta al consultado: igual que se hace con el coco; después tira y anota el número de piezas que cayeron boca arriba. Continúa tirando y anotando, a la vez que consulta las manos del consultado, quien en cada tiro tiene que friccionar el huesito y la semilla pidiendo con fe y concentración lo que desea saber, a la vez que deja en cada mano cerrada una pieza al azar. Por los números anotados el awó hace sus interpretaciones y le dice al consultado lo que contestan los oríshas o el muerto. Este oráculo siempre tiene un ángulo subjetivo que llama la atención. Está prohibido terminantemente su uso a los babalawós o hijos de Orula. así como a los no consaqrados. Es un oráculo complejo en grado extremo. "Hay dos formas de tirar los caracoles, pero dicen lo mismo". Se mantiene en la memoria una numeración para el exclusivo uso de los caracoles de la cual hemos obtenido hasta el número doce, según se puede ver a continuación: 0 [m2]Okana Sodde; 02 Ebioko; 03 Ogunda; 04 Eyorosún; 05 Oché; 06 Obbara; 07 Odi; 08 Eyeunlé; 09 Osa; 10 Ofúnfún; 1 [m2]Ojuání; 12 Eyilá. En cuanto a las llamadas letras de los caracoles, se trata de las posiciones que se producen en cada tiro; esas posiciones dan un número de cauris boca arriba y otro boca abajo; estas posiciones son las que se llaman ódu; óddu; odún; órdu; órdún o simplemente "letra" o camino. "Cada órdún es una persona y su historia". Ud. puede tener una vida como la de alguna de esas personas que sirven de patrón en el oráculo. Depende del sacerdote o sacerdotisa hacer las correctas interpretaciones, si tiene suficiente experiencia y aché. No se trata de cosa simple, a juzgar por el tiempo que le toma a los iniciados, aprender el arte de tirar los caracoles, que al decir de los que saben de estas cosas hay que recordar treinta y seis odús para ser un principiante capaz de llegar a conocer cientos de letras.
